To start off, I have an amazing wife and together we claim three rambunctious children ranging in age from 5 to 1, with another expected in November. We recently attended a family reunion, camping in the northern part of Utah (by the way, for those of you with three small children and one pregnant wife, I suggest you avoid camping or travel in general). My plan was to test some of the various uses I had heard about for the oils. My camping experiences included: burning my hand on the Dutch oven, a minor sunburn, mosquito attacks, bug bites, the overpowering smell of campfire, and attempting to clean pans coated with burned food. Luckily my Young Living coworkers had given me some advice about using the oils that came in quite handy:
After a little trial and error, here is an overview of my experience:
- Purification® essential oil blend soothed my mosquito bites.
- Purification essential oil blend repelled mosquitoes.
- Lavender essential oil soothed my minor burn (including a sunburn).
- Lemon essential oil worked well as a cleaning-agent enhancement.
- Peppermint essential oil (my wife’s favorite) covered up the smell of campfire smoke.
I am excited for future introductions to Young Living’s amazing products. I hope you’ll leave a comment and share what your “introduction” experience with essential oils was. I’m sure there is a lot we can learn from each other’s experiences.
